Public Works Engineering—Flood Control

Drainage System Maps

Salt Lake County operates and maintains flood control and drainage facilities both in unincorporated County as a municipal service and County-wide as a service to all County Cities and Towns. The municipal service consists of storm drainage service on a local level, conveying runoff to streams, canals, major systems or the Jordan River. The County-wide system consists of streams, canals, major systems and the Jordan River, conveying local runoff safely and efficiently to the Great Salt Lake.

The Division maintains a map of the County drainage system. Periodic updates are made to keep up with the growth seen throughout Salt Lake County, especially in the southwestern portion.

These maps are planning level precision. They are to be used at your own risk. If you are planning to excavate, always rely on bluestakes. If you are planning to connect to the system, contact your municipal drainage system operator. If you are planning to connect to a County-wide facility, review the information on this page or contact the Engineering Division 801 468-2711 or by Email.
